The Public Interest Clearinghouse is collaborating with both law firms and legal services programs in California to ensure that the placements meet the needs of the associates, firms, programs, and most of all, clients in need. Executive Director of PIC & LAAC Receives Prestigious Miles L. Rubin Public Interest Award

Julia R. Wilson, the Executive Director of two statewide organizations, the Public Interest Clearinghouse (PIC) and the Legal Aid Association of California (LAAC) has received the Miles L. Rubin Public Interest Award from Stanford Law School for her efforts to improve low-income Californians’ access to legal services.

PIC and State Bar Launch Foreclosure Help Website

With the generous support of the California Bar Foundation, The Public Interest Clearinghouse (PIC) and the State Bar of California have launched a new website, www.ForeclosureInfoCA.org to provide Californians with information on mortgages and foreclosures.

The Public Interest Clearinghouse is facilitating an open discussion group among all California IOLTA-funded programs, with the objective of creating a self-sustained HR support network.

Programs can interact by:

  • Talking with peers about structuring your organization's HR department
  • Exploring issues unique to HR in the legal services community
  • Sharing best practices and past experiences
  • Discussing topics such as employee benefits, training, career management, conflict resolution, useful software & technologies, hiring, and any other appropriate areas
