What's New at PIC

PIC Hires Two New Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Fellows

PIC is thrilled to announce that our current Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Fellows, Julie Mercer Ingram, Chio Saephanh and Doan Nguyen have extended their fellowship into a second year.  With the addition of Jenna Grambort and Candace Chen, PIC is proud to have five Fellows working across California!

Jenna Grambort is the new PIC AmeriCorps Legal Fellow housed at the Watsonville Law Center.  Jenna graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2010, serving as the Berkeley Law Foundation Co-Chair in 2008-2009.   During law school, she externed for the Honorable Edward M. Chen, Northern District of California, and clerked for the East Bay Community Law Center, Bay Area Legal Aid and Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center.  As a part of the PIC team, Jenna will help build capacity by strengthening the WLC’s relationship with volunteer law students and pro bono attorneys, and by providing direct legal services to the farmworker community the WLC serves.

Candace Chen is the new PIC AmeriCorps Legal Fellow working on Southern California expansion at PIC's San Francisco office.  Candace graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2008, serving as the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association Co-Chair and a Public Interest Law Foundation grant recipient.  During law school, she clerked with Justice First, LLP and Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse.  Since law school, Candace has practiced law with Justice First, LLP, Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach, and a private law office.  As a part of our team, Candace will increase pro bono support in Southern California by working with law schools and students, legal services nonprofits and law firms from Bakersfield to the Mexico border.
